Jubilee Ministries was established in 2005 in response to a defined interest from parents to provide a residential summer camp for youth within the IDD population in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. As a result of the passionate commitment of the core group of founders, Camp Jubilee hosted its first week of camp in the summer of 2005 with five campers and six volunteers. Over the past 16 years, more than 200 special friends, ranging in ages from 10 to 65, have participated in this exceptional summer camp experience.
Keenly aware of the shortage of government funding and the enormous need for year-round day programming, MJM launched His Path Developmental Day Program in December of 2019. The need for post high school activities for the IDD community in Rockingham County, NC finds over 100 individuals on a 10 year wait list for medicaid services. The success of this program initiative (even through the pandemic) led MJM to explore opportunities to expand into adjoining counties. In the summer of 2021, we proudly launched our 2nd day program in Forsyth County, NC. Currently we have 14 adults with IDD enrolled in each of the day programs. We are determined to continue expanding day programs throughout the Piedmont Triad.
The goal of MJM is to continue partnering with this unique population by offering more than just a summer camp and day programs. It is our focus to begin expanding our opportunities to include more day programs, participant volunteer opportunities, supported employment and respite care. The vision of MJM is to develop an inclusive residential community where special friends can continue to learn, work, and live as they are celebrated and empowered through their God-ordained abilities.
